A Philosophy of Uncompromising Singularity

Eugène-Aimé Salon was a fur trader and Champagne enthusiast who created a wine for his own table and that of close friends. His vision was both radical and absolute: to craft a single cuvée from a single Grand Cru village, declaring it only in years he judged truly exceptional.

This philosophy has remained unchanged for more than a century. Salon does not produce Champagne every year. Vintages are declared only when conditions in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger allow for Chardonnay of sufficient concentration, balance and ageing potential. As a result, the house has released fewer than 40 vintages since 1911, making each bottle exceptionally rare.
